Who we are

Trek’n’Trails (https://trekntrails.com) is an independent project focused on trek information, route planning and GPX route data. The site provides curated trek overviews and downloadable GPX files created specifically for use in navigation apps. We do not operate as a travel agency and we do not sell guided services — only information and digital route files.

Personal data we collect

We collect the following data only when necessary:

When you make a purchase: Name, email, and billing details to process your order and provide download access.

When you use the site: Essential cookies for site functionality (WordPress, WooCommerce). Technical data (IP address, browser type) for security and spam protection — not stored long-term.

With your consent: Analytics data (Google Analytics 4) to understand how the site is used and improve it.

Optional interactions: If you submit a rating or report an issue, we store only the information needed to process your feedback.

We do not collect sensitive data. We do not track you across other websites. We do not sell your data.

Data controller: Trek’n’Trails (site owner). If you are located in the EU/EEA, we process personal data under the GDPR.

Cookies

We use cookies for core website functionality (WordPress and WooCommerce), such as login/account features and cart/checkout sessions.
With your consent, we also use analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4 via Google Tag Manager) to understand traffic and improve Trek’n’Trails. You can change your cookie preferences anytime using the Privacy settings below

If you create an account, we store the information you provide (such as your name, email address and order details) to manage your purchases, provide access to digital downloads and support customer service. Order and billing information is stored to fulfill purchases and meet legal/accounting requirements. You can review and update your account details in your account area, and you may request access to or deletion of your personal data as described below.

Download links are available for a limited time after purchase (14 days).

Payments

Payments are processed securely through Stripe.

Stripe processes your payment information directly — we do not store your card details.
