Unlike most of the trekking destinations in Nepal, Langtang valley trekking is less crowded, specially after the Earthquake in 2015. The disastrous earthquake followed by a massive avalanche swallowed the entire langtang village, claiming lives of hundreds of people. The trek offers a prominent view of snow-capped mountain ranges, glaciers, rivers, lakes and waterfalls. Langtang National park in the region is also a sanctuary for endangered species like Himalayan black bear, Himalayan tahr, rhesus monkeys and red pandas.

The Langtang valley trek starts with a bus ride from kathmandu to syabru besi from where you can trek to Lama Hotel, Langtang Village, Mundu, and Kyangjin. Similar to most of the other treks in Nepal, you will need both trekking permit and TIMS card to embark this adventure which can cost around USD 40-50. We highly recommend you to insure your trip with a valid travel insurance provider. Your tour operators will guide you through the acclimation process which will make it lot easier for you. Also, since you will not walk long hours and the elevation covered in this trek is relatively low, altitude sickness is not a major concern. Porters can be hired as low as USD 20 a day.
